Oksi
The Solo Developer's Studio
Hey, I'm Mielitty, an indie game dev with a heart for shoot 'em up games. In this modern game industry where everyone's chasing the latest craze, I'm here, in my little corner, doing my own thing, reviving the joy of those old-school arcade shooting games, but with a dash of today's flair.
For me, making games is all about pouring my soul into what I love. Despite the chatter about how niche shooting games are, I get such a thrill from connecting with our small and awesome community. To me, game development is more than coding, art, or design; it's about sharing my world, challenging myself, and honoring my childhood gaming heroes.
Today, shoot 'em ups have transformed into a community-driven hobby. The genre persists thanks to a small yet fiercely passionate group of enthusiasts. This dedicated community not only keeps the spirit of shooting games alive through fan games, mods, and events but also fuels the development of new titles, ensuring the genre's enduring legacy — a legacy I aspire to be part of.
FAQ
What is Oksi?
Oksi is a neat little solo dev studio about arcade-style shooting games. Even though I'm just getting started, a lovely, passionate community is already building around my first title, Marras.
What is Marras?
Marras is a bullet hell shoot 'em up that blends traditional arcade design with modern aesthetics. It offers an Arcade mode for classic gameplay and introduces a Campaign mode with level structures reminiscent of precision platformers like Super Meat Boy or Celeste.
When is Marras expected to be released?
It's still too early to say, especially since I'm working on Marras alone. I'm aiming to release a playable developer preview (alpha-demo) in 2025. The full game will most likely take a couple of years to complete.
